One of our favorite things about Austin is the amazing variety of things to do. One incredible resource home to Austin is the Barton Creek Greenbelt. Featuring shallow creeks, limestone cliffs, trees and trails, the Barton Creek Greenbelt is an excellent place to go rock climbing on limestone cliffs, mountain biking or hiking on a variety of trails, or swimming, cliff diving, kayaking, and tubing in the creek! We love coffee and love exploring unique and local shops around town! AustinLocal.com has a great article on 31 of the best coffee shops around Austin!

Since we are located in the Lakeway/Bee Cave area, two of our favorites are Baguette et Chocolat and Lola Savannah. Lola Savannah actually has several locations around town!

Baguette et Chocolat:

In addition to a broad selection of coffee drinks, Baguette et Chocolat features authentic French and Vietnamese cuisine in a bright and charming setting. They also have incredible pastries and desserts that are all baked fresh in house, and different types of bread for purchase. This is a great spot to meet someone for coffee, breakfast or lunch, or just to drop in and get something to go!

Lola Savannah:

Lola Savannah has several locations around Austin including downtown, Lakeway and Westlake. They offer a large selection of coffee and tea beverages with comfortable seating and tables in case you want to work or study. Lola Savannah is also attached to one of our favorite local restaurants – The Grove – serving a changing menu of pizzas, pastas, entrees and an extensive wine list!

19 Free Workout/Yoga Classes in Austin

Are you wanting to get more active but don’t want the expensive commitment of a gym membership or personal trainer? Or are you someone that does better in a group setting versus exercising solo? Austin Local outlines 19 great free fitness classes around Austin!

Here are a few of the different offerings:

  2. Yoga on the Plaza at Whole Foods – 525 N Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78703. Happening every Monday at 7:00pm, this class fills up fast so make sure to arrive early to get a spot. You’ll also need your own mat, water and towel.
  3. CrossFit Austin – 410 Pressler St, Austin, TX 78703. CrossFit is one of the most popular fitness crazes around. CrossFit Austin offers a free community classes throughout the month at their Downtown and North locations. Contact them directly to register.
  4. No Excuses Running Club – Different Locations. Happening on Monday’s at Wednesday’s at 5:45pm, come join a focused group for warm-up, running activities, cool-down, and group stretching. All fitness levels are welcome!
